Wildcats punch ticket to Omaha

Super Regionals at Hi Corbett

The Arizona Wildcats are heading for Omaha. The 'Cats beat  St. John's 7-4 today at Hi Corbett Field to clinch the Super Regional and now head for the 2012 NCAA College World Series and their first appearance at the coveted event since 2004. Arizona  (43-17) jumped out to a 4-0 lead after two innings and then held off the Red Storm (40-23), thanks to a complete-game performance from right-hander Konner Wade. Wade (9-3) allowed just six hits and four runs (only two earned) as he went the distance for his ninth win of the year. The Wildcats are the first team to clinch a berth in the College World Series. Congrats, Wildcats!
