Santana hurls no-hitter

The first no-hitter in the history of the New York Mets organization was thrown tonight by left hander Johan Santana. Santana threw 134 pitches in nine innings as the Mets beat the St. Louis Cardinals 8-0 at home in front of an appreciative crowd. Santana (3-2)  walked five and struck out eight en route to his first ever no- hitter.
