Union Rags wins Belmont
Union Rags squeezed through on the inside rail and won the Belmont Stakes today at the wire as Bob Baffart settles for second as his horse, Paynter, loses by a neck at the finish line. That's three runner-up finishes in a row for Baffart. Baffart's horse Bodemeister came in second at Churchill Downs and in the Preakness, finishing behind I'll Have Another on both occasions. Baffart didn't have to worry about I'll Have Another today, instead, it was Union Rags that kept the University of Arizona grad from the winner's circle. Baffert is an American horse owner and trainer, whose horses have won three Kentucky Derbies, five Preakness Stakes, one Belmont Stakes and two Kentucky Oaks.
