The 17-year-old Beau Hossler faltered down the stretch. Tiger Woods did the same. And, in the end, Jim Furyk and Graeme McDowell faltered as well, leaving Webb Simpson, the man in the clubhouse, as the winner of the 2012 U.S. Open. Simpson's 1-over-par 281 was enough to capture the championship trophy. McDowell finished at 282, Furyk finished with a 3-over-par 283, while Woods carded a 7-over 287 and Hossler finished 6 strokes over par on the final day to finish with a 9-over 289. In short, the Olympic Course won out. What a tough OPEN!
