Wildcats continue to hit and hit...and hit!

The Arizona Wildcats ignited by a grand slam home run in the third inning by Johnny Field captured the Tucson NCAA Regional last night at Hi Corbett Field with a what-else-is-new 16-3 thrashing of Louisville. Field goes 4 for 6, scores four times and drives in seven runs, while James Farris throws a complete-game as the Wildcats prepare to host the Super Regional next week against St. Johns.

Riley Moore also turns in a box score that reads 4 for 4, 4 runs scored and one run batted in as the Wildcats record 15 hits in the regional championship game, giving them 58 hits and 47 runs scored for the three-games. If I was a player from St. John's, I'd be shaking in my cleats right about now.

Way to go, Wildcats!

Super Regional: The Wildcats await word on the site and dates for the Super Regional, but there's a good chance Arizona will host the event. Arizona is 41-17 and St. John's is 40-21, after winning the Chapel Hill Regional over North Carolina this weekend.
