Blackbirds fall to league-leading A's
The 38-and-over Blackbirds (3-5) have been in every game this season in the Mountain Division of the Tucson MSBL, except Thursday night as they fall to the undefeated A's, 15-3. The Blackbirds avoided the shutout with some late-game runs, but the A's rolled from the start and never looked back. Sean Rollins led the Blackbirds with two hits in three trips to the plate with a single and a double to go along with two runs batted in. Paul Smith singled twice and drove in the Blackbirds' third run.
Another bye week is on tap for the Blackbirds before they return to action on Thursday, June 14, against the Red Sox. Game time 7 p.m. at Reid Park.
