Two of my teammates on the Tucson MSBL Blackbirds watched their sons perform last night as the 2012 high school football season got underway. Lions quarterback Cody Rochon (son of Rick Rochon) scored three touchdowns as Mountain View won their opener with a 25-17 win over Marana, while Panthers quarterback Thomas Bolen (son of Tom T-Bone Bolen) scored on a 5-yard run and threw for 101 yards against Palo Verde as the Panthers dropped their opener to the Titans, 14-7.  Bolen connected on eight of his 26 passes, while Rochon went 7 for 15 and threw for 152 yards. Rochon connected on a 25-yard TD pass, ran another one in from 19 yards out and also scored by returning an onside kick 40 yards. My grandson, Jadon Price (son of Michael Price), gets his start at quarterback for the Wilson Junior High Wranglers on Wednesday. Go get 'em, Jadon, and good luck the rest of the season to Thomas and Cody.
