D'backs salvage final game of series with Nationals

The Arizona Diamondbacks received seven strong innings from Patrick Corbin and were led by Paul Goldschmidt at the plate as they salvaged the final game of the three-game series with the Washington Nationals today at Chase Field. Goldschmidt (in photo above) went 2 for 4, scored twice and drove in three runs in the Diamondbacks 7-4 win. Corbin (4-4)  allowed four hits and two earned runs, while striking out seven.  He did not walk a batter. The win kept the Diamondbacks over the .500 mark for the season as they improve to 58-57. Arizona keeps pace with the Giants and the Dodgers who both won today. San Francisco beat the Rockies, 9-6, and the Dodgers shutout Miami, 5-0.
