Rattlers rock Aces

60-and-over Aces

The 60-and-over Aces couldn't come up with the right combination at Mission Manor Park this morning, but the Arizona Rattlers found the right key for a victory. Rattlers win it 12-6 as the Aces once again were guilty of a hand full of errors. The Rattlers took advantage of the Aces' miscues and scored four runs in the second inning and five more in the third.

The Aces took a 1-0 lead in the top of the second inning on an RBI-single to center by Pigpen Price and then in the fourth inning they plated five runs thanks in part to a triple by Tim Tolson and a double by Ron Petersen. The Aces closed the gap to 9-6 but couldn't get any closer as the Rattlers added two runs in their half of the fifth inning and a run in the sixth.

"We hit the ball well, but we just made too many errors," said manager Jerry Hamelin, following the game. It hasn't been a good week for the Aces, who lost 16-2 last Saturday to the defending MSBL/MALB 60-and-over champions, the Cool Arrows, and the loss today to the Rattlers.

The Aces continue to prepare for the 2013 MSBL/MALB World Series in Phoenix. The Aces open play in the 60-and-over division at the world series on Oct. 28.
