If you can't win, at least spoil a no-hitter
The Arizona Diamondbacks were silent at the plate last night in San Francisco.
The D.backs lost to the Giants 3-0, but at least they spoiled a no-hitter as Eric Chavez hit a two-out single to right field in the ninth off Yusmeiro Petit.
Patrick Corbin (13-6) loses another one as he pitches eight innings. He allowed eight hits and three runs and once again failed to get any support offensively from his teammates.
Arizona falls to 71-69. The Diamondbacks are now 12 games back of the NL West leading LA Dodgers and are eight games back in the Wild Card race.
