Diamondbacks even series with Rockies, win 7-2


The Arizona Diamondbacks banged out 14 hits at Coors Field tonight and beat Colorado 7-2 to even the three-game series with the Rockies. Gerardo Parra and Chris Owings collected three hits apiece for the Diamondbacks, while Paul Goldschmidt hit a slow roller down the third baseline in the ninth inning for an RBI-single to extend his hitting streak to 11 games, while picking up his 122nd RBI of the season.

Rookie Matt Davidson hit a three-run homer in the fifth inning. Trevor Cahill picked up the win and improved his record to 8-10. Arizona (78-76) will go after the series win tomorrow afternoon as Patrick Corbin (14-7) goes for his 15th win of the year.
