Lyle Overbay gets it done!

Lyle Overby singled up the middle off of Chad Qualls in the bottom of the eighth inning for the go-ahead run as the Arizona Diamondbacks went on to defeat the San Diego Padres, 3-2, tonight at Chase Field.

The D'backs move to 84-61 on the season and now hold a 8 1/2 game lead over the second-place San Francisco Giants in the National League West. Daniel Hudson pitched a complete game for the D'backs and won his 16th game of the year. Justin Upton belted his 30th homer of the season with a solo shot in the 6th inning. The Giants lost 2-1 to the LA Dodgers tonight in San Francisco.
