Centerfield Royals play well in Labor Day Tournament
My grandson,Jadon, and his teammates on the 12-and-under Centerfield Royals played well in the Labor Day Baseball Tournament over the weekend at Tucson SportsPark.
It was a hot weekend to say the least, but the Royals battled their way all the way to the semi finals and took on the Big Chueys Rockets on Sunday afternoon. With the temperature reaching 106 degrees, Jadon and his teammates played evenly with the Rockets for four innings, but an unearned run in the fifth inning was the clincher for Big Chueys and the Royals lost a heart-breaker, 2-1. The Royals, coached by former major leaguer George Arias, are quickly becoming one of the top 12-and-under teams in the Tucson area.
