D'backs pull out a win in San Diego

The Arizona Diamondbacks picked up the victory in San Diego today, knocking off the Padres 5-1. Lefty Joe Saunders picked up his 12th win of the year as the D'backs kept their five-game advantage over San Francisco. The Giants hit six home runs and won their eighth straight today with a 12-5 win over the Rockies. Despite San Francisco's onslaught at Coors Field, the Diamondbacks were able to reduce the magic number for clinching the National League Western Division title to five.

The D'backs head home and take on the Pittsburgh Pirates tomorrow night. Diamondbacks right-hander Ian Kennedy goes for win No. 20.
