Tucson 65s pull even at MSBL World Series

2012 MSBL World Series Update

65-and-over division

The Tucson 65-and-over team has a shot to make the playoffs at the 2012 MSBL World Series.

After opening with two straight losses, the Tucson squad bounced back with a 12-4 win on Wednesday over the California Bears and a 10-4 win today over the Tri Valley Giants.

With a 2-2 record, Tucson needs a victory in Goodyear on Friday against the 65-and-over Sacramento Solons to qualify for the playoffs on Saturday. Bob Daliege, a member of the Tucson Old Timers (TOTS), finally got a chance for some at bats today and he made the most out of his opportunity. Daliege had an infield single and an RBI-double in three trips to the plate. He also walked once and scored a run. Tucson received two outstanding pitching performances as Joe Jimenez pitched a complete game on Wednesday and Hector Zapata followed with another complete-game performance today.
