65-and-over division
The Tucson 65s lost 18-5 today at the MSBL World Series to the Sacramento Solons and failed to make the playoffs. Tucson used three pitchers -- Brad Buchan (Fairpoint, New York), Vic Acuna (Tucson) and George Gafner (Tucson) but couldn't keep the Sacramento team off the base paths. Tucson finished 2-3 in pool play and finished tied with St. Thomas (Virgin Islands), but their head-to-head battle earlier in the week, a 13-7 win by St. Thomas, gave the team from the Virgin Islands the final playoff spot. The 60-and-over Tucson team will begin play on Monday as the MSBL World Series enters its third week of play.
