Cardinals win rain-delayed Game 3




The St. Louis Cardinals won the rain-delayed Game 3 of the NLCS in St. Louis tonight 3-1 to take a 2-1 advantage over the San Francisco Giants in the best-of-seven series. Carlos Beltran strained his left knee during the game and Matt Carpenter, his replacement, hits a two-run homer to provide the big blow for the Cardinals.

Kyle Lohse gets the win and Matt Cain is saddled with the loss. Game 4 is set for tomorrow night in St. Louis. As for the ALCS, a rain out today in Detroit. The New York Yankees and Tigers will go at it tomorrow night, weather permitting, in Game 4 of their series with Detroit holding a 3-0 advantage and needing just one more win to advance to the 2012 World Series.
