Arizona Scorpions make it two in a row at MSBL World Series

MSBL World Series Update

70-and-over division

The Arizona Scorpions made it two in a row at the MSBL World Series today in Scottsdale with a 12-2 win over the Ohio Classics. Fresh off a 20-9 win on Monday over Dodgertown West, the Scorpions continued to put runs on the board, while right-hander Chico Bigham from Tucson allowed just nine hits over nine innings of work as the Classics had to settle for just two runs in the first inning.

Bigham used his fastball and an occasional breaking pitch to keep the Ohio team scoreless for eight innings. Dohrman Sinclair, the Scorpions' centerfielder and manager, had a couple of run-producing hits today, while the Tucson contingent of Doc Thompson, Jerry Hamelin, Danny Price, Tom Barrow, Arnie White, Dan Kershaw and Bigham all hit safely again today.

The Arizona Scorpions (2-0) will have their work cut out for them tomorrow as they play a doubleheader against the San Diego Padres (2-0) and the San Diego Mudcats (1-1). Both games will be at Maryvale Park in Glendale. The first game gets underway at 9AM and the second game has a 1PM starting time.
