Teammate buys Batters Box

I always wanted to own my own batting cage.

You know the indoor type where you could walk in, turn on a few lights and enjoy America's  favorite pastime -- baseball. What a kick it would be to sit back and witness the young, and the old alike, take a cut at a blazing fastball...again...and again...and again. What a kick it would be to watch a young ball player, knee-high to a grasshopper, take his swings and every now and then get a hold of one -- and WHACK IT!

What a kick to see a young boy, or girl, smile from ear to ear as they discover what it feels like to successfully swat a baseball (or a softball) to the far corners of the backing cage. Or see a young boy, or girl, sign up for lessons and start their journey to become the best they can be in a sport I love and can never seem to get enough of.

Well, I have a teammate who is doing just that. Allen F. Gillespie, a teammate of mine on the Tucson MSBL 38-and-over Mountain Division Blackbirds, recently purchased the Batters Box, the indoor Batting facility at 7620 N Hartman Lane in Marana, Arizona. Allen and his co-workers are now taking teams and individuals. Give Allen a call at 520-251-2098 or stop in and say hello.
