It's a work in progress...but the Wildcats win

In the Stands Report by Bookemdano: Jordin Mayes went on a scoring-spurt midway through the second half and it was just enough to give the Wildcats some breathing room as the Wildcats went on to beat Duquesne 67-59 tonight at McKale Center. Mayes scored eight points during a three-minute span and finished the night with 19 points.

The Wildcats trailed at the half 30-28 and committed 21 turnovers. The other bad news: The Wildcats missed 11 free throws. The good news: Arizona is 2-0. Jesse Perry was the big gun under the bucket tonight, scoring 11 points and grabbing 11 rebounds for his second straight double-double. The Wildcats had trouble with Duquesne's pressure defense for most of the night and that is something coach Sean Miller will need to address at the Wildcats' practice sessions, later in the week.

All in all, it was a fun evening, even though I sat on the edge of my seat for most of the game. I guess, I'd better get used to it. Chances are, there will be more of the same down the road.
