It's a great day to play baseball!

Wednesday should be a great day for baseball.

When the sun comes up over the Rincon Mountains tomorrow morning, Tucson residents will remember why they have made the Old Pueblo their home. As for us old timers, who love to play the game of baseball, we (the members of the Tucson Old Timers Baseball Club) will take the field at Udall Park under a bright, blue sky and a temperature at game's end, fluttering around the 72 degree mark. The TOTS' players, ranging in age from 60 to 86, will take the field, breathe in the crisp air, let out a whistle or two, and await the first pitch.

There will be a slight breeze in our faces by the third inning...and by the fifth inning we'll shed our wind-breakers and feel comfortable in our short sleeve TOTS' jerseys, as the sun slowly rises, clears the tree tops at Udall, and shines brightly onto the field of play. A great day for baseball!
