Duquesne

The Duquesne Dukes are in town and will take on our Arizona Wildcats tonight at McKale. The alumni from the private Catholic university in Pittsburgh includes a bishop and a cardinal or two, and was also the school of choice for singer Bobby Vinton, the 1960s crooner, who had two giant hits which still rattle around in my head from time to time -- Blue Velvet and Roses are Red (My Love).

Vinton is 76 years old and lives in Florida. And, of course, we hope the Dukes will be the team singing the blues tonight.
