Pistol Pete Peters top hitter for TOTS in March

The March winds came and went and 66-year-old Pistol Pete Peters made sure he filled the air above Udall Park with baseballs. Peters didn't mind the wind at all as he banged out 39 hits in 55 trips to the plate for a hefty .709 batting average to lead all the TOTS hitters during the month of March.
Lloyd "Baby Bull" Barzell led the club in runs scored for the month with 24. Barzell, who batted .538, banged out 28 hits to finish second in that category, while his 13 RBI was third on the club, behind Tim Tolson (22) and Pigpen Price (17).
Other top hitters for the month of March included: Brian Reilly (21 for 37, a .568 average), Bob Daliege (20 for 31, a .645 average), Dennis Crowley (20 for 41, a .488 average), Dick Ducklow (20 for 41, a .488 average) and Tolson (19 for 41, a .463 average). Tolson led the club in home runs with one and doubles with seven.
Pete Peters (above photo) led the TOTS with 39 hits and a .709 batting average for the month of March.
