21-year-old Spieth fires a 64 at Masters

Day 1 at the Masters


Jordan Spieth, 21, fires an 8-under par 64 to take a three stroke lead in the opening round on Thursday at the Masters in Augusta, Georgia.

Spieth carded nine birdies in his round.

Ernie Els, Jason Day, Justin Rose and Charley Hoffman are tied for second.

Tiger Woods struggled the entire round today, but fought his way to a 1-over 73. It certainly wasn't the Tiger of old as he struggled from the tee, but his short game was right on, giving him a fighting chance on Day 2 to make the cut for the weekend.
