The San Francisco Giants beat the Arizona Diamondbacks 5-4 tonight at Chase Field in front of 49,043 fans to open the 2015 season.
The Diamondbacks starter Josh Collmenter (0-1) was saddled with the loss and Madison Bumgarner (1-0) picked up the win for the Giants. Jake Lamb contributed a three-run double for the Diamondbacks in the eighth inning and Mark Trumbo tripled in a run in the third.
As for Chip Hale, the former Arizona Wildcat star and the new manager for the Arizona Diamondbacks, he'll be looking for his first victory when the three-game series with the Giants continues on Tuesday night.
