Diamondbacks take out their frustrations on Rockies
The Arizona Diamondbacks took out their frustrations of a long, so-so season by smacking the Colorado Rockies 15-5 in Denver last night.
Wade Miley gets his 16th win thanks to a 19-hit attack by his teammates. Chris Johnson homers, scores twice and drives in three runs to lead Arizona to its 75th win of the season. Of course, they have also lost 75 and remain 12 1/2 games behind the NL West Division leader, the San Francisco Giants. Miley (16-10) pitched six inning and allowed five earned runs and 10 hits. He didn't walk a batter and struck out four. The runs scored and the 19 hits were both season highs for the Diamondbacks.
Arizona continues the series today and will send Patrick Corbin to the mound to face the Rockies, who have fallen to a dismal 58-92 on the season.
