Johnny Cueto pitched eight strong innings and Kendrys Morales belted a 3-run homer in the eighth inning and the Royals prevail tonight in Kansas City 7-2 to win Game 5 in the division series and advance to the ALCS and a date with the Toronto Blue Jays.

The home teams prevail in the American League postseason games as Toronto wins at home and Kansas City follows suit.

The Cubs, the Blue Jays and the Royals are in.
