Men's Senior Baseball League World Series
Lefty Ron Petersen had a good day at the MSBL World Series today, going 2-for-3 and a sacrifice fly as the San Antonio Texans lost a heart breaker 8-5 to a tough Detroit 70s team at the Tempe Diablo Complex, annex field #5.
Petersen singled and tripled and is now 2-for-5 after two days of tournament play. Pigpen Price was involved in his fourth double play of the tournament, but still struggles at the plate -- 0-for-5, after two days of action, but has scored a run and knocked in a run.
Price and Petersen are members of the Tucson Old Timers, the 60-and-over baseball club which plays three days a week at Udall Park.
The two players will finish up the week with the Texans and will then join the 65-and-over Tucson Aces, Oct. 24-30, a team made up mostly of player from the Tucson Old Timers.
Price pulled a upper hamstring this morning, but is able to continue playing.
Next up for Price and Petersen: The Arizona Scorpions at Goodyear Stadium, 2 p.m. on Tuesday.
