Bautista homer sends Toronto to ALCS

MLB Playoffs

Jose Bautista hit a dramatic 3-run home run in the 7th inning today in Toronto as the Blue Jays  win Game 5 of the division series 6-3 over Texas to advance to the American League Championship Series.

A dramatic end to a wild game that saw the Texas Rangers commit three errors in the bottom of the 7th inning. Down 3-2, the Blue Jays scored four runs before the inning was over to take the lead for good and then held their collective breath the rest of the way with the Toronto fans cheering them on.

The entire 7th inning took 53 minutes to be played, which included a play in the top of the inning as the Rangers took a 3-2 lead when Toronto catcher Russell Martin's throw back to the pitcher deflected off the bat of Shin-Soo Choo, allowing the go-ahead run to score.

What followed by the Toronto fans wasn't exactly pretty, but in the end the hometown fans went home happy.

Toronto returns to the ALCS for the first time since 1993.
