Men's Senior Baseball League World Series

65-and-over Central Division

The Tucson Aces lost their opener at the MSBL World Series today at Fitch Park in Mesa, 17-7, to the Ohio Classics.

Joe Opocensky was the big gun for the Aces. Joe went 3 for 4 -- including two doubles and a triple, while another hard-hitting lefty Tim Tolson singled and doubled in five trips to the plate.

Right-hander Arnie White was saddled with the loss as Ohio jumped out to a 10-0 lead after just two innings of play. Pigpen Price relieved White in the fifth inning and Ernie Hernandez pitched the final two innings for the Aces.

The Aces play a doubleheader tomorrow in Surprise. The first game gets underway at 10 a.m. against LA Dodgertown. The second game is scheduled for 2 p.m. against Tri Valley, a team from northern California.
