TOTS' Leap Year Game slated for Monday

Tucson Old Timers (TOTS)

60-and-over baseball

The Tucson Old Timers (TOTS) will be playing baseball on Feb. 29. It's their Leap Year Game. Leap Year occurs every four years, every four years the TOTS get to play an extra game. Not that the TOTS need any special reason to play ball, after all they play three days a week -- all 52 weeks of the year.

One thing is for sure, there will be no "leaping" on the ball field at Udall Park.

It'll be the usual -- stretching a triple into a double, a double into a single (well, you get the idea).

Game time at 9:30 a.m.

Note: People born on Feb. 29 are called "leaplings" and the TOTS' roster is void of any members born on that day. The closest: Jeff Rein, 64. He was born Feb. 28, 1952. Happy Birthday, Jeff!
