Davis has big day with TOTS
Tucson Old Timers (TOTS)
60-and-over baseball
Ted Davis did it all for the Tucson Old Timers (TOTS) at Udall Park today.
Davis, 65, shut down a Team White rally in the fifth inning when he ran down a hard-hit ball of the bat of Danny Boxberger. The over-the-shoulder catch kept Team White from expanding on its 3-2 lead.
In the top of the seventh and Team White clinging to the 3-2 lead, Davis drilled a shot down the third baseline for a two-run double, which capped a four-run inning and gave Team Blue a 6-3 win.
Team White, which held the lead for most of the game, went quietly in the bottom of the seventh. It was the first game of February for the 60-and-over Tucson Old Timers. The sun is supposed to shine everyday next week and the TOTS should get games in on Monday, Wednesday and Friday.
Nice to have the good weather back in the Old Pueblo.
