Peters leads Team Blue to 7-5 win

Tucson Old Timers (TOTS)

60-and-over baseball

Pistol Pete Peters continued his hot hitting in the month of February as Team Blue edges Team White, 7-5, today in a 60-and-over Tucson Old Timers game at Udall Park.

Peters went 3 for 4 and drove in three runs as Team Blue, down 2-0 after one inning of play and 3-2 after three innings, scored four runs in the fifth inning and held on for the win.

Down 7-3 in the seventh, Team White scored two runs and had the tying run on base with two outs, but couldn't get the job done. Right-hander Lloyd Barzell (photo) picked up the win and Arnie White was saddled with the loss.

Pigpen Price led the way for Team White with three hits in four trips to plate, while knocking in two runs.

The big blow of the day -- a stand-up triple by Bob Daliege.

The TOTS will be back in action on Monday, Feb. 29, an extra game day this year for the organization.
