Wildcats grab two from the Cougars

The Arizona Wildcats have yet to lose a series this season. They could have lost one this weekend, after falling to the Washington State Cougars in the Pac-12 opener on Friday night at Hi Corbett Field, but they remained tough and did what they had to do by salvaging both games yesterday, 8-7 and 12-9 to improve to 16-4 overall and 2-1 in Pac-12 play.

Robert Refsnyder had the hot hand yesterday, going 6 for 8 to increase his batting average to a cool .397, second on the club to Alex Mejia, who leads the team with a .400 average. My man, Johnny Field, broke out of a mini-slump with a single and two RBI in the nightcap. Johnny is hitting at a .366 clip with 20 games in the books.

Go 'Cats! Next up: New Mexico State in a two-game series at Hi Corbett Field on March 20-21. Both games with a start time of 5 p.m.
