And the Pima Cup goes to...

There was a big youth soccer tournament this weekend and my granddaughter and her team, the CDO Comets, came within a goal of winning the Silver Division of the Pima Cup in the 11-and-under group. After winning their first three games, Hannah and the Comets (sounds like a rock group ), lost in their finale to the Tucson Soccer Academy Blue team, 2-1, Sunday at Jacobs Park. The difference in the match turned out to be a kick by the TSA's goalie, who kicked the ball the length of the field. Somehow the ball scooted, right, then left, bounced up and around and through the Comets' goalie. The championship of the Pima Cup so close for the Comets, but they would settle for runner-up. Way to go Hannah and the Comets!
