Rattlers get one back

Aces Baseball

The Arizona Rattlers took one on the chin last time they visited Udall Park and were handed a 14-5 loss. Today, however, the Rattlers got one back as they knocked off the Aces, 12-4, in an early morning 60-and-over baseball game at Mission Manor Park. It just wasn't the Aces day as the Rattlers jumped out to a 6-0 lead and cruised to an easy win behind a complete-game performance from righthander Tino Naverez. Tino mixed in a roundhouse curve ball with a dancin' knuckler to get the job done.

The Aces' lead-off batter Dennis Crowley went 3 for 4, but was left stranded all four times he reached base. A double by the Aces' Pete Peters produced two runs in the sixth, but the Rattlers added four in the 7th inning and two more in the 8th inning to win going away. Third baseman Bob Daliege singled in a run, as did Aces' shortstop Tim Tolson, but some timely hitting by the Rattlers through out the game and a handful of errors by the Aces took its toll on starter Arnie White, who went six innings, allowing 10 runs, but just two were earned.

Price watch: As for me, I scored twice, but went 0-4 as I continue to get thrown out or reach on a fielder's choice. I also pitched two innings, allowing two runs, while walking four and striking out just two batters.
