Wildcats capture series win in Corvallis

The Arizona Wildcats won the rubber game 7-5 today in Corvallis to win the three-game series over the Oregon State Beavers, improving to 4-2 in the Pac-12 and 18-7 overall. It's the second Pac-12 series win of the young season for the Wildcats, who return home to face the Stanford Cardinal next weekend.

Reliever Matthew Troupe struck out the side in the ninth to preserve the win. Robert Refsnyder went 3 for 3 for the Wildcats. James Farris pitched 7 2/3 innings for Arizona and picked up the win. Alex Mejia had two hits, scored twice and knocked in two runs, while my favorite player, Johnny Field, fails to get a hit in four trips to the plate. After 25 games, Refsnyder leads the team in hitting with a .398 average.
