Ron Petersen, 72, is two weeks away from heading to the Men's Senior Baseball League World Series. The lefty is doing what he can to prepare himself for a grueling, two-weeks and a minimum of 10 games at the MSBL World Series in Phoenix, Oct 14-27.
Today, Petersen took a big step forward as he pitched a complete game and knocked in five runs to help his cause en route to a 8-3 win in a 60-and-over Tucson Old Timers (TOTS) game at Udall Park.
Petersen, pitching for Team White, kept the Team Blue batters at bay for seven innings and if all goes well, he'll try to do the same when he's asked to take the mound at the senior World Series in both the 70-and-over division and the 65-and-over division.
Way to go, Ron!
