Darkness descends over McKale

Arizona Wildcats Basketball

A low hanging black cloud hovers over McKale. Say it ain't so, Sean Miller.

Arizona sports fans cherish Arizona basketball. The "lucky fans" who own or can obtain a ticket to witness live the Wildcats in action at McKale will now prepare for the dark days ahead.

The headlines on the front page of the Arizona Daily Star this morning does not mention the devastation and the aftermath of a hurricane more than 3,000 miles away or the latest wave of political discourse in Washington, D.C.

Instead, the headlines center around Book Richardson and a Category 5 news story which will bring the beloved Arizona basketball program to its knees.

Winning seems to be the most important thing in Washington these days. And it's no surprise, as the curtain falls and overshadows a cherished college basketball program, that "winning" is everything.
