Diamondbacks within 9 games of the Dodgers

Arizona Diamondbacks

The Arizona Diamondbacks beat San Diego 3-2 at Chase Field today and salvage 1 of 3 with the Padres to climb within nine games of the NL West division leaders, the Dodgers, a team which lost its 10th straight game this afternoon in Los Angeles.

The Dodgers fall to Colorado 8-1 and have now lost 15 games in the last 17 days. Go figure!

Arizona improves to 83-60 and the reeling Dodgers fall to 92-51 with 19 games remaining in the regular season.

The Rockies come to town tomorrow night for a four-games series at Chase Field.

Diamondbacks Update:  Paul Goldschmidt, who turned 30 today,  hit his 34th home run this afternoon and J.D. Martinez went yard twice and now has 37 homers on the season. Robbie Ray (13-5) won his 13th game.
