Martinez belts four homers in a game

Arizona Diamondbacks

When you're hot you're hot.

Country singer Jerry Reed belted out that song back in 1971.

The Arizona Diamondbacks and J.D. Martinez are certainly hot -- the Diamondbacks winners of 11 straight games with a 13-0 shellacking in L.A. of the Dodgers yesterday. Of course, Martinez is on fire, hitting four home runs yesterday to become only the 18th player in MLB history to accomplish the feat.

I'm shaking my head this morning. The Diamondbacks improve to 80-58 -- 22 games over .500!

The Dodgers have now lost nine of their last 10 games and are 12 1/2 games ahead of the Diamondbacks in the NL West.

Arizona has the fifth best record in the majors.

Keep it going, Diamondbacks!
