Diamondbacks make it 10 in a row

Arizona Diamondbacks

The Arizona Diamondbacks have it going.

Arizona beat Colorado 9-5 on Friday, 6-2 on Saturday and this afternoon at Coors Field in Denver the Diamondbacks made it a clean sweep with a 5-1 win -- their 10th win a row. The first time Arizona has accomplished that feat in 14 years.

The last time the Diamondbacks won 10 straight was in 2003.

My goodness, the Diamondbacks are rolling as they improve to 21 games over .500  and now own a 79-58 won-loss record. The second-place Diamondbacks are 6 1/2 games ahead of the Rockies (72-64) in the NL West.

The LA Dodgers lost to San Diego today 6-4, but still own the best record in baseball with a 92-44 record and sit atop the division with 26 regular season games to go.

As for Arizona's victory today, it turned out to be another three-homer day for the good guys as Chris Iannetta, Ketel Marte and Brandon Drury went deep. Paul Goldschmidt had a rare day off, but the Diamondbacks won anyway and now head for Los Angeles and a three-game series, beginning on Monday with the Dodgers.
