Good morning! It's a great day for baseball

2013 Men's Senior Baseball League World Series

60-and-over Tucson Aces

Good morning! It's a great day for baseball.

Our 60-and-over team, the Tucson Aces, take the field this morning and open play in the Men's Senior Baseball League (MSBL) World Series with a doubleheader at Papago Park in Tempe, the spring training home of the Oakland Athletics.

For most of the players on the Aces, it'll be their first go-around at the 2013 senior world series, but three players -- yours truly, Ron Petersen and Arnie White -- it'll be their second week at the prestigious tournament. The trio played in the 70-and-over division on Oct. 14 thru Oct. 21 (six games in six days) and now the trio is on the 14-man roster of the 60-and-over Aces and will play six games in four days -- including doubleheaders today and Wednesday.

The rest of the roster for the Aces include in no particular order Billy Heiny, Tim Tolson, Dennis Crowley, Bob Daliege, Jerry Wessels, Pete Peters, Jeff Rein, Mike Taylor, Ted Davis, Dave Rhoades and Lloyd Barzell.

The Aces take on Team America in the first game of the doubleheader. So, it's off to the ballpark at 7:30 -- 2 1/2 hours before game time.

Wish us luck!
