Gomes blast in 6th inning ties series

2013 MLB World Series

Boston's Johnny Gomes blasted a three-run homer over the left field fence in the sixth inning and the Red Sox beat the Cardinals 4-2 in St. Louis tonight to tie the 2013 World Series at two games apiece.

Gomes was 0 for 9 in the series before his round-tripper. David Ortiz went 3 for 3 to help the Red Sox turn the tables on the Cardinals, after last night's bottom-of-the- ninth fiasco won by St. Louis, due to an obstruction call at third base, which allowed the winning run to score and sent the fans at Busch Stadium into a frenzy.

Tonight, it was the Red Sox turn.

Last night's game ends with an obstruction call, tonight's game ends with a pickoff at first base.

Wow! The series is heating up.
