Game 5 in the books
2013 MLB World Series
Jon Lester bested Adam Wainwright for the second time in the MLB World Series as the Red Sox take Game 5 in St. Louis tonight by a score of 3-1 and head back to Boston with a 3-2 series lead.
David Ortiz collected another three hits to lead Boston tonight, while Roy Holliday hit s solo shot for the Cardinals. Lester pitched 7 2/3 innings, allowing one run on four hits, while Wainwright went seven innings and is now 0-2 in the series. Wainwright allowed eight hits and all three runs.
John Lackey will take the mound on Wednesday for the Red Sox, while the Cardinals will counter with Michael Wacha.
