Stoops...he gone!

Mike Stoops was fired today as head coach of the Arizona Wildcats.

Athletic Director Greg Byrne announced the dismissal of Stoops this evening at a news conference and named defensive coordinator Tim Kish as the interim coach. Wow! Just two days following Arizona's 37-27 loss at Oregon State, Byrne pulls the plug and Stoops is gone after 7 1/2 seasons and a record of 41 wins and 50 losses. Loss No. 50, up in Corvallis, put the final nail in the coffin.

Bring on the Bruins and let's play it out. One thing is for sure, the mood on the Arizona sideline will be a little different.
