Young, Arizona defense lifts Cats to Pac-12 win

Arizona Wildcats Football

The Arizona offense struggled, but the defense came through big time with three interceptions and a fumble recovery to ignite a 24-17 upset over the California Bears tonight at Arizona Stadium.

Arizona safety Scottie Young's interception and return for a score from 24 yards out with 3:13 remaining in the fourth quarter helped seal the deal for the Wildcats.

Young ended up with two interceptions on the night, while teammate Colin Schooler came up with another interception. Schooler picked off a pass at the California 20-yard line, ran the ball back 46 yards and then fumbled.  The ball ended up in the hands of Arizona's Azizi Hearns, who completed the crazy touchdown play with three minutes remaining in the third quarter to give the Wildcats the lead at 17-14.

Arizona improves to 3-3 overall and 2-1 in the Pac-12 South.
