Arizona ran the ball well with 259 yards rushing and RhettRod threw for 231 yards and two touchdowns in his first start, but the Wildcats were one-point short as UCLA won Saturday on their home turf, 31-30.

The Wildcats fall to 2-3 in the Pac-12 Conference and 3-5 overall.

JJ Taylor rushed 19 times for 154 yards and a score, while Gary Brightwell carried the ball 15 times for 121 yards. Arizona out-pointed the Bruins in total yards (520-460).

Tough loss. Next up: Oregon on Saturday at Arizona Stadium.
