Slugfest at Udall

TOTS Senior Baseball Network (TSBN)

60-and-over-baseball

TOTS Blue knocked off TOTS White 14-10 Monday at Udall Park in an old-fashioned slugfest. TOTS  Blue right hander Bob Daliege (above photo) pitched a complete game and picked up his first win of the year. He struck out one and walked four. "I haven't pitched in over four months," said Daliege, better known as the "Kayak Kid."  Daliege feels comfortable going down the rapids, but he certainly stayed afloat on the mound today. "I had some movement on the ball. I was pleased." Still, TOTS White had a chance to even the score in the sixth inning as they loaded the bases with only one out. But Daliege coaxed Jerry "The Yankee Clipper" Hamelin to hit a come-backer which resulted in a double play to end the inning. Team White went quietly in the seventh inning and Daliege had his win. "I'll need to go home and ice the shoulder down," Daliege said, following the game.
