Royals Baseball

My grandson, Jadon Price, is right where he needs to be as a player on the Royals Baseball 13-and-over team. Jadon is the starting center fielder for the Royals and this weekend Jadon and his teammates brought home another first-place trophy at the Veterans Day Memorial Tournament at Tucson Sports Park. Congrats to Jadon and the Royals, who are all members and players of the Arizona International Baseball Consortium (AIBC).

The academy is run by George Arias (U of A All-American and 15-year MLB Player) and Laura Espinosa Watson (3-time U of A Softball All-American). The academy's mission is to teach Tucson's youth life skills and core values through the games of baseball and softball. The academy is the only one of its kind in Tucson targeting at risk youth by offering scholarship opportunities and academic assistance. The academy is endorsed by Edgar Soto (Pima CC Athletics Director) and also has endorsements from Andy Lopez (U of A Baseball) and Mike Candrea (U of A Softball).

Hats off to George Arias and the academy...and Jadon, of course. Bottom photo: Jadon and his teammates. Jadon is in front row, far right.
